Wordless Wednesday: Art Walk and Finding Rosie the Riveter

I made my own art walk the other day.
You'll find this statue along the Columbia River in Vancouver USA
It's really called Wendy the Welder. Her head was stolen once... but it's back now!

Clark County Cinnamon Loves Lucky Memorial Dog Park in Brush Prairie

Since I am sporting my shiny new Clark County dog license tag, I decided I should try being a real Clark County dog! So today I chose a new dog park, the Lucky Memorial Dog Park - Brush Prairie Washington to romp in. But I wasn't prepared for what happened. I wasn't prepared that I would find my new favorite park. And here's why:

It was partly sunny as we drove east along SR503. Soon it became foggy and the strip malls and Fred Meyer stores were left behind. I became more and more excited. We were headed for the COUNTRYSIDE. We turned off the main road and passed farms and treed land. It was really RURAL. I was feeling like a real FARM DOG.

Once we parked in the small parking lot at Lucky Park, and went through the double gate, I felt excited and free. There were only a few dogs there. It was so foggy I couldn't even see the end of the park... so I took off running. YIPEE! I ran along the trail through the field and didn't stop until I came upon something I had never seen at a dog park.

Here I am running and running and running
It was some grassy mounds with a big drainage pipe running through it. I usually am kept from entering drain pipes but since I was running FREE, I just went in. And.. I safely came out the other end. Boy was this fun!

I played on the mounds for awhile and then ran down the other side of the fenced field until I came to the "puppy playground."

Here I am playing on the mounds and thinking about going into the drainage pipe again.
I went in the playground, ran around and went through another pipe and out the other side. Then I saw the sign. It wasn't really a puppy playground. It was an agility course. Later a lady and her dogs came in and we all played on the obstacles having a great time.
Here I am with my new friends at the agility course.
We went around the field about four times. I was getting good at running from one end to the next and back again. More dogs arrived. I made friends with a big Husky. People petted me. I was having so much fun, I just kept on running.

Here I am meeting a huge husky dog.
I felt like a real country dog. Next to the dog park and fields were farms. It even smelled like farmland out there. We tromped along the path and noticed it was a little muddy. I ran so fast once that when I turned, my paws kicked up pieces of mud. Woohoo!

Here I am enjoying being a Clark County dog.
I got thirsty doing all this running but noticed the water was turned off. Next time I'll bring my canteen with me.

So why is this my new favorite dog park? Well, it is one of those run by Vancouver and Clark Parks and Clark DogPaw. They know how to make good dog parks. And, second... it was very quiet there. I didn't hear a truck, a car or a motorcycle. It was foggy, misty and quiet. I loved being in the country.

This park was named in honor of Lucky, the Clark County Police K9 killed in the line of duty. It is 7.5 acres of flat open fields with plenty of space to run, jump and fetch. It is fully fenced with a double-gated entrance accessible from 149th in Brush Prairie. Here's their website.

I'm an Official Clark County Washington Dog

Today I got some mail. It was a shiny blue tag from Clark County. It was my official license. It means I have officially moved and settled in Clark County, Washington.
Here's my new dog tag. Do you think it coordinates well with my orange collar?
Clark County is known in the pop media as a redneck kinda place where people shop at Walmart and Old Navy. It is also a rural place where people farm, go hunting and the like. I live in the suburbs so I am not sure what to do.
This is the only picture I could find of a dog shopping at Walmart.
I don't like vests.
Now I hunt squirrels and scare frogs. I don't shop much except online. So I really wonder if I will fit in.

I am trying to figure out how to be a real Clark County dog. Should I brush up on my hunting skills. I think that would help me to fit in. What do you think?
Come on... let's practice hunting with my Duck Duck toy, ok?

Night Walker Cinnamon: New L.E.D. Dog Collars and Leashes

Here I am lighted up like a Halloween pumpkin!
I told you I'd be telling you more about some amazing new lighted safety items for dogs. So here it goes...

My good friend Walking Wendy was sent some things to review. Among them were some things for DOGS. Now Wendy doesn't have a dog so she asked me, Cinnamon, to test the lighted collar and leash. And so I did.

First I examined the tags and L.E.D. Pet Collar and Leash up close. I noticed that there are collars and leashes for S, M and L size dogs. And, their website tells you just how to measure them. It looks like they all measure the same in width because of the lights.

Here I am ready to go for my night walk!
The Nite Beams L.E.D. Pet Collar and Leash can be seen in the dark up to 1/4 mile. Now the raccoons, cats and assorted animals WILL SEE ME COMING! But so will the cars. This gear runs on replaceable batteries. They are water resistant and hand washable. So all that was good.

I tried them on. My owner pressed the button once and the whole thing lit up! I should have had these for the PIR Christmas walk! It was bright but it didn't bother me. It was even OK when she pressed it a second time and the silly thing started blinking like a traffic light! Blink, Blink, Blink... Here comes Cinnamon!

I tried out a safety orange color. I like Orange. It goes beautifully with my gorgeous black and tan coat.  The collar and leash were very sturdy. You could tell they would last a long time.

The clip for the leash was very strong and well-made. You could tell these were meant for classy dogs like me.

The lights are so bright you can read by them!
The leash and collar run $25 - $29 each. So given the quality, I think that is an OK price. Besides, I have some money to spend after some of the product testing I did before Christmas. Now, will I get orange or pink? (I am jealous of a Coon hound named Mona who has a pink collar) Hmmmm. If you are on a strict budget and can only get one thing, I'd recommend the collar.

You can see for yourself on the Nite Beams website. Here are the collars and here are the leashes.

Bed Wars: Cinnamon's Last Word

So you remember that I had to go months and months and months without my cushy bed? And do you remember that I finally got a brand new cushy bed? And do you remember that I also got an animal print throw for it?

Well, I got pretty much what I wanted. So what do I do? Well..... I spend most of my time in my crate!

I realized I like my crate. I feel secure there. Now, don't go and take away my bed. I sleep on that in the middle of the night when I want to stretch out, but I like my cozy crate!

Bwahaha !!!!!!!!!!!

Wonder where I am? I'm probably in my crate!
