Yesterday was supposed to be a fun day. And for the most part, it was.
We started by watching the Kitten Bowl and I enjoyed the balls of fur batting around balls and toys. They were cute. I realized, of course, that there is a point where cats are no longer cute kittens AND DESERVE TO BE CHASED! I love kittens but I really don't like cats.
Then we watched the Puppy Bowl. Now that was the best show ever. Puppies are cute and when they grow up into dogs, they are still cute and are destined to be MY FRIENDS!
It was then time for the Human Bowl... named the Super Bowl. It wasn't quite as interesting. Fortunately we had company for awhile and that entertained me.
I was getting ready to leave when the humans decided it was time to go downtown and listen to jazz. But NO, they slammed the door in my face. I didn't get to go! So much for Super Bowl fun at my house.
But that wasn't the worst of it. Later in the evening I heard that dreaded sound... SNAP, POP, BANG! It was FIREWORKS! The Seahawks won the game which made another excuse for humans to set off FIREWORKS! I hate them. I get scared. I freak out.
First I cowered in my crate. But they didn't stop. Then I ran around the house looking for a place where I couldn't hear the fireworks. But it didn't work. Finally, I decided to curl up in a ball in the front entry way where there are no windows. That worked somewhat.
When my owner got home she found me under the table in the entry way curled up in a very tight coonie ball asleep. And then she realized.... there had been fireworks and I had been all alone... scared.
Isn't there a law in Vancouver? I believe there is. And I also believe it is not enforced.
I guess it's time to open the DAF (Dogs Against Fireworks) National Headquarters. There is work to be done.
Meanwhile, I'm sleeping in this morning. It was a rough evening. Super Bowl Sunday was ruined for me.
Stupidly there were fireworks in Denver last night, maybe they watched something different that the super bowl. Charlie feels your pain with the fireworks.
ReplyDeletePoor puppy! Sorry you had such a bad night. I don't have patience for unenforced laws either. But, I really love fireworks so,,,,
ReplyDeleteCinnamon,
ReplyDeleteWow they were loud over here too.
I don't get scared as long as mom and dad are home.
Sorry you were not with your humans.
xo Cinnamon

ReplyDeleteAw dog. I hate it when fireworks scare my dogs. Big hugs to you. I hope your new organization makes a difference.
