Humane Society for Southwest Washington 2014 Walk - Photos and Story

Our 2014 Photo Essay is Here.....

Happy Dogs at the Beach (Music Video)

I just had to share this. I love the beach. I wish I lived closer to the water. These lucky dogs (and a dratted cat) get to play and swim. It's such a happy video I had to share it!

The Business Side of Cinnamon: My Bog, My Products, MY MONEY

Sometimes when I talk about a product I have tried or give my opinion about a pet-related business, I'm asked if I really make money from my blog. Well, yes, I do. And that money goes to things like my favorite food, toys, expensive boarding and the like. I'm proud that I pay my way. I AM CINNAMON!

I am also an influencer in the pet product and service world. Here's an infographic that was compiled from surveys. I took ALL THE SURVEYS and so my opinions are included! If you can't read the infographic, please click on it.

Cinnamon is Ready for the Humane Society Walk

Here I am modeling my official event scarf
Today I got my walker packet for the Humane Society for Southwest Washington fundraiser walk. It isn't until Saturday but if you pick up your packet early you can sleep in longer on Saturday (makes sense to me!).

Now I am an official walker just like my friend, Walking Wendy. She walks half marathons all the time. I can't do that. I CAN walk 10 K though! The walk on Saturday is only 3 miles so that's about 5K. It should be easy because it will be cooler in the morning.

So in my packet I got an official walker scarf. It is a beautiful shade of green. I'm going to wear it on Saturday along with my Clark Co. dog license and all the mandatory stuff.
I really liked the treats!

I also got some treats in the bag. They were really good. I already ate BOTH OF THEM! Saturday is going to be great. There will be lots of dogs. There will be pet vendors with lots of stuff that I would be interested in. And, I'm hoping for treats at the finish line.

So far, I haven't done very well at fund-raising. I'm kinda sad about that.

Cinnamon's FINAL Plea for the Humane Society for Southwest Washington

It's me, Cinnamon, with a final plea. I am walking Saturday morning (early) for the animals at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington.

How Can You Resist These Pleading Eyes!
This is a fundraiser walk and I ONLY HAVE RAISED 1% OF MY GOAL. I am so humiliated. I am so embarrassed. How can I walk and donate such a small amount? This is my final plea to my friends, readers and dog pals. PLEASE DONATE JUST A LITTLE BIT... PLEASE?

Note: I got up early to write this plea. I usually don't get up until after 9 a.m. See how I sacrifice? Can you guys please sacrifice a few dollars each to help this worthy cause?

Dog Friendly Vancouver USA: Esther Short Park

Here I am on the bench waiting for the little girl to give ME something!
The other day I took one of those LONG walks called a volksmarch. We followed a map from the Red Lion at the Quay and ended up resting a bit in Esther Short Park. This is a great park with shady lawns and water sculptures.

I got my picture taken with a man and a little girl. Only thing is, they didn't move or talk to me. Later, I found out that it is a bronze statue and is a piece of art. The bronze statue, "A Gift for You" by Jim Demetro, Battle Ground, Washington, is located on the east side of the Esther Short Park. I would have had more fun if they had petted me and complimented me like real people do!
Here I am with the man. He is reading The Columbian

Here's the Salmon Run Clock.
On the other side of Propstra Square is the huge Salmon Run Clock and Glockenspiel. The bells and glockenspiel play every day at noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. We were there around 11 a.m. so I didn't get to hear the bells. We saw a lot of Vancouver on our walk and I'll be writing more about it.

Since it's so sunny out lately, I wanted to tell you about Esther Short Park so you can go there with your dogs. Just keep them on a leash and, you know, clean up after them.

Here's a webcam showing the park. Maybe someone saw ME in the picture this week!
