2015 Humane Society for Southwest Washington Run and Walk for the Animals (Photos)

Well, it's over... my favorite big walk event. The 2015 Humane Society walk was even more fun than last year. One of the best things was that I saw friends I met last time and they recognized me, Cinnamon. Now I had to get up early to go. But once I got there I perked up and went begging (I call it asking nicely) for treats, got petted and learned about some new dog services and products.

Here's my photo journal of today's exciting event:

I was pre-registered but had to go here to pick up my walker packet.
I didn't get a number because I wasn't running.

Here I am in my official walker scarf.
This year they were turquoise. I like turquoise because I am from New Mexico.

Here's my friends from Battle Ground Barkery
They recognized me from last year. They are from the school program that
makes the dog treats. I went after those great treats and then, later, greeted my friends.

I'm walker Cinnamon and this is what I do!

Here's the guy from Animal Control. Here in the picture I was
telling him that I am licensed but my license was on my other collar.
I wore my Chile Pepper collar to the event so I'd look extra spiffy.
He gave me a special dispensation.

They had a special agility course set up. Dogs were running the course.
I didn't get to go in because I'm not all that good.
However, the Clark Dog Paw dog parks have courses and I
get to do them when I visit the dog parks.

This model was showing how comfortable the dog beds were.

I eyed the purple bed on the bottom but my
owner wouldn't buy one for me.

Look who I saw at the walk event... My dentist!
Here's Dr. Meyers from Forever Pet Dental. She was really happy to see me.
I made sure I kept my mouth closed so she wouldn't look at my teeth, though.
She gave me a Greenie anyway. Yay!

This is the Forever Pet Dental booth.
I found out they have expanded and are going to
offer general vet services soon!

My owner was very interested in Unsinkable Dogs.
Ever since I got my life jacket she's been talking about swimming.
I am still not all that sure about swimming.

They even let kids into the walk event!

Here I am at the start point waiting for the walk to start.
Notice how well behaved I am. I think
I had too many treats from the vendors.

Yep, I had too many treats. I was about to fall asleep waiting for
the walk to start. I looked spiffy in my turquoise scarf, though.

And we were off... walking along the Columbia River
I saw these fishing boats and thought I might like to go salmon fishing!

Here are some of the walkers. There were lots of dogs and people.

In less than an hour the race was over and I was back in the car.
Here I am watching the rest of the walkers go by. I got finished
pretty quickly. I was fast during the first half and
was tired during the second half.

Here I am on the way home.
Tired Cinnamon!
I hope the Humane Society for Southwest Washington made lots of money. It sure was a great event. I am looking forward to 2016!

Here's my photos from 2014.

Please come join me, Cinnamon, on this fund-raiser walk on May 2nd, 2015. I walked last year and had a ball. I especially liked all the vendors who handed out treats and petted me.

Register now for the 2015 Walk and Run for the Animals in Southwest Washington

Last year I had the greatest time at the Humane Society of Southwest Washington's annual walk and run fund raiser. The best part was that there were "treat stations" all over Esther Short Park! A "treat station" is what I call a vendor booth. There were vendors representing home-made dog biscuits as well as larger companies. Most of them GAVE ME TREATS!
Here I am in my official walker scarf asking for treats!
This was last year. I plan to do lots of this again this year!
I had my picture taken and I got petted. It was a great day. We chose the 3 mile walk along the Columbia River. I'm not into running... just walking and getting admired.

This year's event takes place on Saturday, May 2nd 2015. I'm signing up. You can register online at http://southwesthumane.org/walk-run http://southwesthumane.org/walk-run

Photo Essay: 2014 Humane Society for Southwest Washington Walk Run for the Animals

I did it! I walked the 3 mile walk for the animals at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington. Today was such a great day. We animals with loving homes walked for those that do not have homes. But between you and me, it was all about TREATS AND DOGGY FRIENDS!

I've put together a photo essay so you can see you great this event was. It was the best dog event I have ever been to. It was well organized and focused on MY FUN AND MY COMFORT! I loved it. So here's the photos:
Good Morning. It's walk day. Here I am half asleep.
But I have my official walker scarf on... ready to go!

Here I am checking the weather. I am glad the sun wasn't out.
I didn't want to get overheated

Here I am carbo-loading.
I needed a good breakfast because I was going to walk 3 whole miles!
We arrived at the event early. Here's the famous Vancouver Salmon Run Clock Tower
But Look! There's a huge bull next to it!
We checked out that bull but what we dogs were after
were the treats! See how this dog is pulling his owner toward the treat tents?

Here I am getting a treat from the Battle Ground Barkery.
They work with students with disabilities in the schools.
I loved the treat! The lady was nice to me, too!
Here's another nice lady. She gave me a treat and a striped scarf.
She was from Unleashed by Petco. It's a special boutique store.
I also stopped by All Natural Pet Supply, Daisy May Dog Treats, Mud Bay and Clark Dog Paw. Most of the booths with treats gave me coupons too! I have never seen so many dog-oriented booths and they were all so nice to me.

I liked this booth with the cuddly stuffed dogs.

At the Clark Dog Paw booth I met this nice lady with a parrot!

I also met this bulldog!

Here I am with my friends from Clark Dog Paw. I am a member!

This dog gets my vote for the cutest at the event!

Here's another pretty cute dog raring to go!

I even saw a miniature horse. This horse walked the whole event!

This beautiful dog is a die-hard Blazer fan.

Things got started with Mayor Tim Leavitt talking about how
dog friendly Vancouver is. I totally agree.
But he then admitted he is too busy to own a dog.
He's missing out!

People started moving to the starting line. Runners went first.
I made sure to got near the front because I am a fast walker and
I was full of treats and energy!

There go the runners!

We were off on our BIG WALK. It went by the Mighty Columbia River

There must have been hundreds of dogs!

The lines of walkers went as far as the coonie eye could see.

They had plenty of water for us... and a first aid tent too.
I had about the best time any dog could have. I walked fast, didn't stop and sniff much and stayed away from the overly intrusive dogs. I did 3 miles in an hour. I AM WALKER CINNAMON!

I am going to do this event every year. Thank you HUMANE SOCIETY FOR SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON for a great day and for caring about us animals!

And thank you to my donors and supporters. I love you!

Love, Walker Cinnamon
